Welcome to this Jesus’ Disciple Blog. If you are interested in an Apostolic view of the Bible, or wanting to learn more about what the Bible actually says, this blog is for you. If on the other hand, you are bound by church tradition, it is probably not for you. If you are wondering, what is meant by Apostolic, it is a view of the Bible as taught by Apostles of the first century church. Some of the early Apostles, lived and ate with the Messiah. Others came to their understanding of scripture, through the fellowship they had with the original Apostles. The Apostolic view of scripture is attained through careful study of the new testiment scriptues, without consideration for modern church traditions and dogmas. Key to this study is the book of the Acts of the Apostles. The book of Acts is the only New Testiment book dedicated to the history of the early church and the spread of the Gospel.

When the Messiah was born, two millennia ago, he was the manifestation of the one true God, Jehovah. Jesus came to set up His Kingdom in earth. He went about, continually preaching about the coming Kingdom of God or Kingdom of Heaven, known as the Gospel. The Jewish people did not recognize Him as their Messiah, because they were looking for a physical king, who would overthrow the Roman Empire, and establish the throne of David in Israel. Jesus, however, came to set up a spiritual Kingdom on earth. One that could only be entered into by choice, and not as earthly Kingdoms, by force.
Like most people today in America, I am thoroughly disgusted with modern government and politics. While I considered my brith into the Democratic Republic of the United States of America to be a great blessing, I also recongnize the degradation and corruption that has occured in my life time. Therefore, today, I proclaim, before all the earth, and anyone who might read this blog, that I have chosen King Jesus as my King and Lord of my life.
2 Tim 2:4 “No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life;…”
Dan 5:21 “… the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that He appointeth over it whomsoever He will.”
I have cast my final vote in the democratic process for King Jesus, and will, henceforth, simply trust HIM for my rulers. “Thy will be done in Earth as it is in Heaven.” I, like Daniel and the three Hebrew children, will obey the laws of man, only as long as they do not conflict with my service to my King.

IS GOD RAISING UP A GIDEON?
The 20th Century revival of the Apostolic Church in America, began in Topeka, Kansas on January 1, 1901 when Agnes Osmand received the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as God gives the utterance. This outpouring of the Holy Ghost led to the great Azusa Street Revival in Los Angeles beginning in 1906. The Arroyo Seco Camp Meeting of 1913 brought the revival of One God named Jesus manifest in the human flesh of the Messiah and baptism in Jesus name. The first generation fathers of this movement have long since passed, as well as most of the second generation. The third generation are getting older as we see the forth and fifth generation emerging into leadership roles.
I was pondering this as I was reading the first part of the book of Judges today. The Lord has brought His covenant people out of Egypt. Moses (representing the first generation), of Pentecost has long since died. By the later half of chapter one, we read how the tribes of Israel had failed to conquer the land as God had commanded. Now the second generation under Joshua, is dead. The Bible tells of how the children of Israel began to do evil in the sight of the Lord. The Lord would occasionally raise up a judge who would deliver Israel and Israel would prosper during that judges lifetime.
Judges 2:20-22 And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel; and he said, Because that this people hath transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice; I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died: That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the Lord to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not.
Gal 4:24-28 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband. Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
The enemies of Israel, in Judges, were left in tact so each successive generation might be tested as to their faithfulness to God. Hagar was the husbandless bond woman who represented the lost world, or those who are in bondage to sin. Sarah is the woman of the promise, rightfully married to Abraham, she is the free woman. Today, just as the nation of Israel was tested, we are surrounded by the unbelieving world, the children of Hagar with no husband, as in Galatians. The children of the desolate (abandoned) woman will always be more then the children of the promise. We are the children of the promise. We must resist the temptations that entrapped Israel and begin to adopt the ways of the lost world around us, who, “know not God.”
Judges 3:1-2 Now these are the nations which the Lord left, to prove Israel by them, even as many of Israel as had not known all the wars of Canaan; Only that the generations of the children of Israel might know, to teach them war, at the least such as before knew nothing thereof;
II Cor 1:3-5 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
They were also left in place, in Judges, that they might be taught how to fight in battle. In the spiritual sense, as seen in Romans, today each successive generation of Pentecost must be tested and proven. Unlike Israel, we do not war against flesh and blood. We are warring against the spiritual realm of the enemy of our soul. We must learn to fight in the spiritual battle that is left in place. If we do not learn to fight against our spiritual enemy, we will die in bondage to idolatry just like the physical nation of Israel.
Judges 6:13 And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the Lord be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt? but now the Lord hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
Often today, I hear people questioning the Lord, as Gideon did, “where are the miracles which our fathers told us about.” The Lord is raising up many Gideon’s in this hour, who are asking, where are the miricles our fathers told us about. It is time that we repent and turn our hearts back to the Lord who delivered us out of Egypt.
Matt 8:16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:
Luke 4:40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; …
Mark 13:34 For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, . . .
Luke 9:1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Mark 16:17-18, 20 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. … And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
Am I contending that the Lord will heal everyone. No! Some will lack faith to receive their healing, and for others, it may be their time to go be with the Lord. What I am saying is, the manifestation of God’s power, and glory should be greater then what it is.
Matt 17:21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
Do we pray and fast as much as Jesus. If not, we can not expect the same result. However, with much prayer and fasting, if our motives are right, the result will improve.
Matt 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Do we pray and fast for results. No! We see many will have results without relationship. We must pray and fast to know Him, that He might be formed in us, then the results will follow us as we follow him.
